I'm Mia Stoker. A social anthropology and development studies graduate. I trained in TEFL, (teaching English language to foreign adults) and also in the Microsoft ‘Big Five’ – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook and in website design software, Dreamweaver and Photoshop.

My 12-years portfolio career has included five years teaching, a year’s tour leading in Turkey, the management of a luxury hotel in Malawi and numerous office management and website design positions.

My rather embarrassing claim to fame is an appearance on The Clothes Show – How to Dress for Your Body Type!

I live with my boyfriend, and enjoy salsa and belly dancing, photography and travel.

I am currently working as a freelance website designer. However, I am looking to change careers and get into qualitative research.

• As a general manager, supervised 35 members of staff at a luxury resort in Malawi. Also met and greeted guests, acted as local tour guide and hosted meals and guest entertainment
• As a tour leader with Explore Worldwide, operated and led groups of 24 passengers on back-to-back three-week tours of Turkey
• As a corporate IT and English language trainer, experienced in working with groups and individuals at different corporate businesses, financial services firms and charities in the UK
• Interviewed and selected contributors to dating show when working as a TV researcher
• At Dixcot Locations, currently liaise between location owners and clients wanting a film/photographic location

• Prepared 50 students for Cambridge and University entrance examinations whilst teaching at Leicester Square School of English
• As tour leader in Turkey, researched the country and wrote tour lectures
